Medication Policy

Students may receive medication from the school nurse provided they meet the following criteria:

1. Parental Consent: A signed medication authorization form from a parent or guardian is required.
2. Proper Documentation: The medication must be in its original pharmacy container, clearly labeled with the student’s name, dosage, and administration instructions.
3. Timing: The medication must be scheduled during school hours as specified in the authorization form.
4. Health Compliance: The student must have a valid medical reason for taking the medication during school hours, as verified by a healthcare provider.
5. Over-the-Counter Medications: OTC medication permission is completed during student registration. This allows students to receive over-the-counter medication, such as: Tums, Cough Drops, and Tylenol, etc. to be administered from the school's stock supply. Excessive use may require permission from your medical provider.

Students are not allowed to carry Over-the-Counter Medications.
