Q: What is Little Cyclone Preschool?
A: Little Cyclone Preschool is a school based educational program for students who are 4 years old.
Q: How old does my child need to be to register for the LCP 4 year old program?
A: Qualified students need to turn 4 by Sept. 15, 2025

Q: Will there be a cost to attend the Little Cyclone Preschool?
A: No, there is no tuition cost to the families.
Q: Can my child ride a school bus to attend preschool?
A: Possibly. If you live outside of 2 miles from the school your child will be able to ride a “route” bus to and from school on a daily basis. State law dictates that schools are required to provide transportation whenever a residence is outside of a 2 mile radius.
Q: Will my child eat lunch while at school?
A: Yes. If you select the full day option, your child will eat lunch in the lunchroom just like the other Kdg - 5th grade students. Parents will have the option to purchase school prepared lunches or send a sack lunch for their child. If you choose the ½ day option then your child will not eat lunch at school.
Q: What are the program options for my child?
A: Harlan Community School offers families either a ½ day program (8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) or a full day program (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) Both options are 4 days per week with no classes on Wednesdays.
Q: Is there a deadline for when I need to decide on the preschool choices?
A: It’s flexible, but…. Parents can choose when and if they want their child to attend preschool up to the start of the school year in August. We know it’s a lot to process, so nothing is set in stone. BUT, when parents sign up during our pre registration process the responses are “time stamped” in order to provide a “first come first serve” scenero. For example, the first 54 parents to sign their kids up for the full day option, will be guaranteed a spot. Others will be placed on a waiting list.
